    The local church making a difference in the community Matt Gorton, the Youth & Children’s Minister at St Jude’s Church, Plymouth is running the 2016 London Marathon to raise the £800,000 needed to finish the £1.2 Million reordering project. The twist is people can only donate £1 each. Matt is looking for 800,000 people who believe the local church can make a real difference in the community, to sponsor him just £1 (!) This would, firstly, enable St Jude’s Church to complete their ‘Next Era Project’ which will allow them to transform their current building into one that can better serve the local community.  More importantly though, it is about 800,000 people standing together to say that the local church isn’t dead, in fact it is more alive than ever and working harder than ever to spread God’s love in their communities.
