  • Urgent need for help at Derriford Hospital Chaplaincy

    The Department of Pastoral & Spiritual Care (Chaplaincy) at Derriford Hospital are in urgent need of forming a new weekend volunteer team.  One of the 6 Sunday morning teams has had to drop out of the rota and we need to form a new team to fill the gap with some urgency.  This ministry facilitates the transport and accompaniment of patients in wheelchairs from wards to the chapel on Sunday mornings for a 9.15am service, staying with them for the service and then taking them back to the wards afterwards.  The whole process lasts about 2 hours from 8.30 – 10.30am once every 6 weeks.  In addition there is a need to spend about 2 hours the previous Saturday morning, going round the wards to gather a list of patients who wish to attend.  This is a vital and valuable role enabling patients who are dislocated from their own...
