Plymouth Banks Fossil Free Big Shift
Ash Leighton Plom, Regional Coordinator for Christian Aid, writes:
Fossil fuels feed climate change, whereas renewable energy can provide sustainable solutions for the planet’s future. But trillions of pounds of our money are being poured into dirty fossil fuels by high street banks even though environmentalists and economists alike know that we need to get out of fossil fuels and instead invest in clean, safe energy that doesn’t wreck the planet.
I am therefore writing to invite you to: Plymouth Banks Fossil Free Big Shift Moment on Monday, 24th July, 12 noon, starting at Barclays Bank, Armada Way, Plymouth PL1 1LA
Meeting outside Barclays at 12 noon on 24th July, we will crowdsource anti-fossil fuel comments and pro-renewable comments on a giant piggy bank poster which is designed to represent divestment from fossil fuels and reinvestment in renewable energy.
We will then hand in copies of a letter to branch managers in Barclays and other banks nearby, calling for banks to shift from fossil fuels to renewables.
YOU are welcome and we want you to please come and add your voice to our call on the banks to make the big shift from fossil fuels to renewables.
