|We at Plymouth Christian Vision for Men are really looking forward to the next ‘Sharper’ men’s conference which as you should know by now is on Saturday 19th May 2018 at Methodist Central Hall as before. Hopefully you will have put the date into your diaries and are planning to be there ready to have your faith ‘sharpened’ by the day.
As in previous years the overarching strap line for the event will be from Proverbs 27 v 17 ‘As iron sharpens iron so one man shall sharpen another’ and this year we will be looking at the life of David, a wonderful example for us all of a man of God after his own heart.
The event will be called ‘A Heart like David’ and will feature keynote and quick fire talk as before with some fun and games included during the break time, as well as the usual copious amount of food provided – bacon rolls, pasties and unlimited tea/coffee and biscuits as well as the obligatory doughnuts to finish with. All for the usual price of £10 a ticket – plus we are planning to have some goodies to give you all on arrival as well. All of this is incredible value for the entrance fee with no price increase for four years now!!
After a lot of prayer we have now produced the titles for the talks on the day and they will be:
• Chosen (1 Samuel 16)
• Defeating Giants (1 Samuel 17)
• Friendship (1 Samuel 20)
• Prayer Warrior (2 Samuel 7 18-29 or one of his Psalms)
• A Heart for Worship (Various Psalms)
• Prone to Temptation (2 Samuel 11)
• Repentant Heart (Psalm 51)
• Jesus – “Son of David” (2 Samuel 7 12-13, Matthew 21 v 9)
We are close to finalising the list of speakers and when that has happened I will let you know who they are.
Tickets are now on sale and can be bought at http://cvm-plymouth.org.uk/tickets Please can you get your tickets early as for catering reasons we would love to know numbers attending in advance.
Also we have produced several videos to promote the day on social media and these will be on Facebook and Instagram very soon. When that is the case I will send you the links and ask if you could share them around so we can reach as many men as we can to advertise the day.
Finally would you please pray for us as a team at Plymouth CVM as we are getting close to the day itself and much is still to be done.
Many thanks guys, every blessing to you and your families,
